Walking in love…

Dearest friend,
It is with great excitement that we can now tell you we will be flying back to South Africa on the 31st of August, 2013. We are very excited to be stepping into this new season of the adventure. We will be flying into Johannesburg where we will be completing an internship with Masiphane child havens, before then moving back to Port Elizabeth to open our first child haven from scratch.

We are amazed and overwhelmed by God’s goodness daily, as He has provided for every one of our needs since arriving back in Ireland. Thankyou, each of you for believing in us, and continuing to support us, giving us time to pursue healing and a fresh blueprint of all that we will need to take care of vulnerable children once back in S.Africa. We simply could not do this without you!!!! Our friends the Parsons have leant us their home as they travel to Canada, for 10 weeks which shall take us right up to our departure on 31st August. This is perfect provision for us as it transitions our boys from living with Granny & seeing her every day, to living in a “summer house” and seeing Granny several times a week, before heading back to Jo’burg when realistically we don’t know when the next time will be that we see family and friends.

The reality of this is beginning to sink in, and although obviously it is hard to think about not being close by to friends and family, we know that when Jesus said “no-one who puts their hand to the plough and then look back is fit for the Kingdom of God,” He meant that there was no going back! “It is good to praise the Lord & make music to your name O Most High. Proclaiming your love in the morning & your faithfulness at night” (Psalm 92) Having seen His love & faithfulness fathering children first hand & knowing the importance of this to God’s heart, we can’t now return to a “normal” life again. Seeing His resurrection power, life and love literally raising unwell, poor, abandoned children back to life again is not something we can now pretend we haven’t seen… we’ve seen too much now to ever go back.

Paul encourages us to be “imitators of God.” I’ve been watching our 2 boys as they watch Richie & imitate what he does. In the same way, if we just keep our eyes fixed on our Father & do what we see Him doing, we are convinced that everything else will work out fine. The longer we walk this journey, the more we are realising that the secret to walking in love, lies in becoming like little children who know they have a really big Dad.
“In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, ‘Who then is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?’ Jesus called a little child to himself, and set him in their midst, and said ‘Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn and become as little children, you will in no way enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven’.” (Matthew 18) We expectantly look forward to all that God will do in our remaining time in Ireland, as well as the lives of many children He will impact & reveal His love to as they are welcomed into our new home in S.Africa. It is our deepest prayer that you too would receive fresh revelation of His adoptive heart, love and belief in you as his son or daughter today. This song has been a lifeline to us in past weeks… His faithfulness truly is the best reward
